COOLA Statement

Consumer NZ recently tested 10 sunscreen products in New Zealand, including COOLA Mineral Body Sunscreen Lotion SPF50 (Fragrance Free).  All ten products met Broad Spectrum claims that include protection from both UVA and UVB rays, but seven of these products yielded SPF results below their label claim, including COOLA Mineral Body Sunscreen Lotion SPF50 (Fragrance Free).  As Consumer NZ acknowledges in their article, the variability of SPF testing is a known issue in the industry, and test results can vary widely based on a number of variables within the test. 

At COOLA, we support all of the recommendations that Consumer NZ made in their article regarding improvements that regulators could make to improve consumer confidence in sunscreen products. 

We stand behind the effectiveness of this product; in the seven years that we have been selling this product, we are not aware of any consumer complaints that the product is ineffective.  However, we want all COOLA consumers to feel confident in their sunscreen, so we will facilitate a full refund for anyone who has purchased COOLA Mineral Body Sunscreen Lotion SPF50 (Fragrance Free) in the last 12 months, from us or from a retailer.

We’ll confirm your refund within 5 working days and refund you directly.
